Sorry folks, but we won't meet this month. I held out til the last minute hoping I'd
improve. Have a nasty cold and still have trouble talking.
One thing I had planned to talk about was Microsoft's ICE (Image Composite Editor). It does panorama stitching much like AutoStitch. It's free and also has some bells and whistles that AutoStitch doesn't. Next month, September, I'd like the compare AutoStitch, ICE, and Elements panorama stitching. One thing I've found already is that ICE is almost twice as fast as AutoStitch (17sec. vs 34 sec.) on the test files that come with AutoStitch.

Here's some additional info from Microsoft's site at:

"HD Photo
HD Photo, also known as Windows Media Photo, is a new file format for continuous-tone still images that surpasses the limitations of existing image formats. HD Photo supports a wide range of features, including:
• Multiple color formats for display or print.
• Fixed or floating point high-dynamic range wide-gamut image encoding.
• Lossless or high-quality lossy compression.
• Extremely efficient decoding for multiple resolutions and sub-regions.
• Minimal overhead for format conversion or transformations during decode."
A surprising one for me was the program Imagelys.

It has some auto correction tools that may be better than PhotoShop Elements.
Hope to see you in September
